We will meet at Montparnasse station and take the train together to Versailles. During the journey, we will review the itinerary for the day and offer a concise introduction to the history of Versailles, both the palace and the city itself.

Upon arrival, we will head directly to the palace for a guided visit of the State Apartments. There will be an opportunity to pause for lunch at one of the on-site restaurants before continuing our exploration of the palace and its gardens.

Our visit typically extends as far as the Queen’s Hamlet, where the tour concludes. You may then choose to return to central Paris by train with your private guide, or to spend a bit more time in Versailles prior to heading back to Paris with your return train tickets.

A visit to Versailles can easily become overwhelming: train ride from Paris, vast spaces, dense crowds, not to mention centuries of layered history that we all want to soak in.

This experience is designed for the curious travellers, who are willing and able to take the time to discover the various aspects of Versailles as a palace, but also as a city.

Unlike standard (large) group visits, this tour unfolds at your pace and according to your interests. We will be learning about paintings, sculptures, architecture and French gardens, covering the artistic masterpieces housed at Versailles.

With your private guide, we will adapt our itinerary to avoid congestion whenever possible, allowing for moments of calm. We will take the time to go through the less visited sites, the hidden gems through vivid storytelling and rich visual supports.

The Versailles Palace is open every day except Monday. The Palace opens at 9am; the Trianon Estate opens at noon, from Tuesday to Sunday. Exceptional opening hours / closings may occur, which is unfortunately beyond our control.
